Concept Building Services (Southern) ltd, undertook the base-build works for the National Maritime Museum’s new Exploration wing. Part of the design included constructing a link bridge and re-purposing back of house spaces to create four new galleries; Pacific Encounters, Polar Worlds, Tudor and Stuarts, and Sea Things. These new galleries display over 1000 artefacts from the national collection and have transformed the visitors’ experience of the Museum.

120 mm thickness of EcoTherm Eco-Versal was supplied by insulation and drylining specialists, Elliotts Builders Merchant, then installed and fixed to the timber frame walls by hygiene wall and ceiling experts, MBF Hygiene Systems.
The insulation has a thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK, making it a cost-effective solution for achieving a compliant U-value.
