EcoTherm has extended its Eco-Taper range of polyisocyanurate (PIR) thermal insulation for tapered roofing schemes with the launch of 150-170mm (G) and 170-190mm (H) boards. With these latest additions, EcoTherm and its design partner Building Innovation, now have the most comprehensive tapered roofing range currently available, from 30mm to 190mm.
The new G and H boards eliminate the need for jumper boards when creating 1:60 falls, saving installation time and costs, and simplifying flat roof insulation design. The new Eco-Taper G and H boards can be specified for fully bonded single ply membrane systems, or torch-on, roll and pour, asphalt and single ply bituminous systems.
Like all Eco-Taper insulation, the new G and H options are 1,200mm x 1,200mm in size, and have a lightweight PIR foam core that combines high strength-to-weight ratio with excellent thermal performance. Eco-Taper meets the thermal requirements of UK Building Regulations and is Zero ODP. Tapered or cut-to-fall insulation board is a highly efficient solution for creating better slopes on ‘flat’ roofs to minimise the problem of water ponding on the surface, which may lead to rapid deterioration of the waterproofing membrane and add additional weight to the structure. Tapered insulation both insulates and provides the necessary falls with one trade, so minimising the number of trades on site and assisting ‘fast-track’ construction.
Commenting on the launch of Eco-Taper G and H roof boards, EcoTherm’s Marketing Manager, Dale Kaszycki, says: “With 1:60 tapered boards up to 190mm thick we can now tackle most roofs with just one layer of insulation rather than using a thin ‘flat’ jumper board with a tapered board on top. That saves time, bonding area, and materials on site. As always, our technical team will be happy to assist with the design of specific tapered roofing schemes - just call the helpline on 01268 597212 or visit www.ecotherm.co.uk.”
With production facilities across Europe, and a brand new high-capacity line at its plant in Essex, EcoTherm supplies its product range in the UK through insulation distributors and builders’ merchants nationwide.
