EcoTherm gets top marks for performance

The strength, performance and durability of EcoTherm PUR (Polyurethane) insulation board made it an ideal solution when a Dorset school needed to replace two areas of roof.
The school in Lyme Regis recently completed a major building programme to provide new facilities and teaching areas. Some of the older parts of the school however were starting to show their age. Two areas of flat roof over specialist teaching rooms and toilets were in imminent danger of failure.

The cut-to-falls system offers a simple way to provide a water run off on an existing flat roof and, in this case, tapered from a maximum of 140mm down to a minimum of 80mm.

EcoTherm Multi-Therm is a multi-purpose PUR roof board that is faced with a bituminised glass coated tissue on one side and a plain glass tissue on the other. This means it can be used with the bitumen face up for built up roofing and bitumen compatible single ply membranes, and with the plain glass up for asphalt waterproofing.

For Andy Dawe, his first experience of using EcoTherm products was very positive. “I am most impressed, they are good products and very easy to install,” he says.

And as Dale Kaszycki Marketing Manager of EcoTherm says, “It is not just their ease of installation that makes EcoTherm boards such an attractive option. The energy saving performance of these boards, and the fact that they keep on performing for the life of the building makes them very environmentally-friendly products. The fact that they are so durable means that no extra energy or resources are expended on replacement, and even when the building is finally demolished they can be recycled.”
