Barratt's speedy roofing solution
Glass-Therm rigid polyurethane (PUR) insulation board from EcoTherm is being used as part of a fast-track flat roofing solution at Equinox, a new Barratt development in Hertfordshire. The high performance thermal roofboard supports a Prelasti rubber waterproofing membrane, which is custom-made to the size and shape of the roof and delivered to site ready to install. The prefabricated roofing system enables flat roofs to be installed and fully waterproof up to four times faster than a traditional felt and bitumen construction.
Hyundai car plant insulated by EcoTherm
Glass-Therm rigid PIR (Polyisocyanurate) insulation board from EcoTherm will provide much needed protection against the biting cold of the Eastern European winter in a massive new car plant in the Czech Republic. Specified by general contractor, the Takenaka Company, for its high levels of thermal insulation EcoTherm board is being installed across the 200,000 square metres of the factory’s flat roof.
EcoTherm is the business for new Corby Academy
A ground-breaking £30 million secondary school in Corby enjoys the highest standards of thermal insulation with EcoTherm rigid roof boards. The new Corby Business Academy is a centrepiece of the Priors Hall urban development – a sustainable expansion of Corby town. Around 6,000 square metres of EcoTherm GlassTherm rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) tapered board has been integrated into the roof constructions.
EcoTherm flies the flag at award winning George Wimpey development
EcoTherm insulation roofboard and PVC Membrane from Flag UK are part of an innovative housing scheme selected as a finalist in the prestigious Design for Manufacture Competition (DFM). Oxley Woods in Milton Keynes combines the design and build skills of Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners and George Wimpey South Midlands and meets the competition’s challenge to build a high quality eco-home for a capital cost of £60,000.
Linden's green development
When Linden Homes decided to create a complete development of ‘Eco Excellent’ homes, the thermal insulation not only had to provide the highest possible performance, it also had to be a green product in its own right. Rigid polyurethane (PUR) insulation boards from EcoTherm provided the right solution for both conventional pitched roofs and an innovative ‘green’ living roof.
Record breaking insulation
The Guinness Book of Records has declared the flower auction halls in Allsmeer Holland the largest commercial building in the entire world. EcoTherm supplied 40.000m² of PIR insulation for the building of the 999,000 m² complex.
Xtracold Ice Bar
Nowhere are the demands of thermal insulation demonstrated in such a unique manner (At 8 degrees below zero to be exact!) and EcoTherm had the pleasure of helping Xtracold Ice Bar achieve the status of Amsterdam’s coolest night spot.
EcoTherm gets top marks for performance
The strength, performance and durability of EcoTherm PUR (Polyurethane) insulation board made it an ideal solution when a Dorset school needed to replace two areas of roof.
The school in Lyme Regis recently completed a major building programme to provide new facilities and teaching areas. Some of the older parts of the school however were starting to show their age. Two areas of flat roof over specialist teaching rooms and toilets were in imminent danger of failure.
EcoPark
EcoPark is a new housing development by Gallians Housing Association which is currently being constructed in South East London. The development encompasses some 200 homes built with energy conservation in mind. EcoTherm, manufacturers of Rigid Urethane Foam insulation products, have been specified to provide the thermal insulation boards for the pitched roofs.
Truro College
The two nearly identical new educational buildings at Truro College are another excellent example of how roofing systems are being used to meet the requirements of the new Building Regulations Part L without compromising the designers desire to produce aesthetically pleasing buildings.
Xscape
The stunning Xscape Centre in Castleford, housing a leisure and indoor ski slope, has over 4,000 sq.mtrs. of membrane over EcoTherm board.
Canary Warf
A series of 4 swing bridges on Quayside at Canary Wharf, part of the new BP building, are serviced by escalator towers which, in themselves are an architectural feature. The towers are insulated using EcoTherm rigid insulation boards mechanically fixed over Prodek EPDM membrane and situated behind a polished metal rainscreen system. The membrane and insulation for the project was supplied by Prodek of Hockley, Southend.
